Chinese folk sports art exhibition will be held at the Xiamen Olympic museum on August 7，the Chinese Valentine’s day . The exhibition covers calligraphy, paper cutting, painting, seal cutting, jade carving and various other art categories.

Folk culture is a culture of life which is created spontaneously by the general public to meet their inner needs. It is an embodiment of the aesthetic pursuit and spiritual pursuit of the general public, expressing the pursuit and yearning for a better life. Just like living fossils, folk culture records the spiritual feelings and life appearance of Chinese people during the development of history, and gradually develops into a unique and mature art style. A lot of folk art has used  the most common materials or things that are easily available beside us, giving full play to the imagination of the creator, with a pair of clever hands, to endow them with artistic life and present a vivid aesthetic appeal. Xiamen Olympic museum will display fine folk art works through the exhibition, with the purpose to let more people know and understand the art , treat it objectively, scientifically and with respectful attitude, so as to activate its vitality and enhance its influence. Through the exhibition, more people can see that folk art is also forging ahead, advancing with the times, and striving to adapt to the contemporary society and coordinate with modern sports civilization.

In the exhibition, we can enjoy the seal exhibition by Mozi Lin, who had came up with the idea of using seal cutting to create artistic works to support the Beijing Olympic Games when Beijing bid for the Olympic Games for the first time in 1993. It wasn't until 2001, when Beijing won its second bid, that he confirmed the idea of using seals to represent the elegant demeanour of China's Olympic champions. Beginning from the collection of the Olympic champions’ sports life resume to the collection of thousands of Shoushan stone seal materials, from the design of printing manuscript to the overall visual display , after several years of preparation and conception, Mozi Lin finally completed this historic masterpiece in nearly a year’s time .
