Publish date:2020-4-13   Pageview: 760

The Olympic flame is the symbol of the Olympic Games. The Olympic flame is usually lit in front of the Hera Temple in Olympia, Greece, the birthplace of the Olympic Games, a few months before the opening of the Olympic Games.

In today's online English Corner, Xiao'ao would like to teach you some English expressions of the Olympic torch lighting ceremony.

On March 12, the Olympic torch lighting ceremony was the first to be held without spectators in more than 35 years due to the threat of COVID-19. The iconic flame was lit in the ancient town of Olympia, Greece. The handover of the torch to Japan took place in the Greek capital Athens on March 19 before being brought to Japan.

In the first exhibition hall of the past, present and future of the Olympic Games, there is a  model of the flame lighting ceremony.

At the same time, the experience of the flame lighting ceremony is one of the characteristic programs of the XOM. The activity has been well received and recognized. Many of the participants, including the teachers, students and parents, said that through the flame lighting ceremony, they felt the atmosphere and pursuit of Olympics. Xiao’ao hereby welcomes more tourists to take part in the ceremony and experience the charm of the Olympic Games.

In addition, in the third exhibition hall of the Olympic family, you can also find many Olympic torches.
