An Inspirational Lecture Given by Hou bin at XOM

On the afternoon of 10, Sep. 2010, Xiamen Olympic Museum welcome the first disabled athlete been awarded as Image Ambassador of Paralympics by IOC, Hou bin to give an inspirational lecture introducing his own experience of being a three-time consecutive Paralympics gold medalist, in the presence of a group of business elites, who were all his EMBA classmates as well.

 

At first, they took a tour around the museum, appreciated every Olympic memorabilia with great pleasure and interest, and highly praised the significant function of such a kind of museum in China, which plays an important role in spreading the Olympic Spirits and Culture, promoting more public get involved in sports. Then, the guests attended Hou’s lecture on how to be a Paralympics gold medalist at the presentation hall. Hou talked the suffering of losing one leg in his childhood, introducing his own experiences from a dispirited child to a renowned consecutive Paralympics gold medalist. On hearing the touching stories full of tireless efforts and persistent spirits, the audience gave continuous applauses showing deep respect and encouragement.

 

At the end, Hou called for everyone should keep a gratitude heart and care for the disabled group in the process of pursuing self-success, as a way of fulfill our social obligation.
